    New coin from Hungary: 50th anniversary of Hungarian Uprising - Budapest 1956.

    Tom,is it actually in circulation as a 50 Forint coin,or is it a medal-coin that you have to pay a premium for? It is a nice design though.

    Those 50 forint coins are issued as circulating (base metal) commems - no premium, except for specially packaged sets. But whether one actually comes across them in circulation is a different question. Two million pieces were made of this one, so there is a fair chance. :)

    This year, for example, Hungary will participate in the "Treaty of Rome" program of the euro countries (where all EU member states that have the euro issue basically the same €2 commem). Hungary is not a euro country but puts the same design on a 50 forint coin. Again, the side with the face value will look like all other commemorative 50 HUF issues, only the other side is designed differently ...

    which is that building? It seems great. And can you post a picture without that blue light?

    Biju,it is the Hungarian Parliament Building in Budapest,which also appears on the 1945BP Provisional Government aluminium 5 Pengo coin as well.

    Aidan is right - building of Hungarian Parliment is great! Worth seeing.
    I make coin photos using Panasonic movie camera - as I noticed in the blue back light I can get the best contrast.
