Hi all, I'm back from Puerto Rico! I wanted to share my latest Mint Error acquisition. 50C - 1951 D MS 62 Clipped Planchet at the 2:00 position
Welcome back. Why did you leave the warmth in PR? Great look Franklin and another addition to your errors. Are you running out of room to store them?
No he will move his wife to the next room he has his priority straight (LOL). Just Joking @paddyman98 (nice coin) Dave
Not a bad idea! My step-son does want to get married and move out (They not living with us.. No way!)
Been there done that I live in the country on 130 acres when my oldest got married he thought so (NO WAY) Gave him 10 acres said build a house.lol Dave
Thanks. But, like I asked, how can you (we) tell that is was done at the mint? There should be some obvious visual evidence.
It's a small clip so experience counts. If it was a larger clip all you need to do is take a similar coin and place in the missing curved (clip) area. It will match the missing area. Also, please research the Blakesley Effect. You can also research how clips are made.
Good for you! It's a fairly common error going back into the early 1800's. I've seen numerous large Cents with clips. Very interesting if you're willing to do a little research.
