I have a $50.00 note with a star over the number 50 on the lower right front, i know this is not a star note. I can't find any info on this star, can anybody help??
definitely need bigger pictures. cant tell at that size. upload them to photobucket and you can post it larger here. be more than happy to give ya my .02 at that point
that stamp looks like regular ink from a stamp pad. i dont beleive it to be printed like that. the stars are suppose to have holes in the middle and not be solid anyways. it should look like this. not like yours. your also has a ending letter or block letter. that wouldnt be there in a star note
Nope, not a real star note. If it where, there would be no "A" at the end of the serial number...it would be replaced by a green star.
The close up sure makes it look hand drawn. Would have been interesting if it was put there by a fed employee as a prank.
As CrustyCoins said, it looks hand drawn. Definitely added post BEP. Another possibility is that some stores require cashiers to stamp large bills with a stamp that was issued to them. This allows the store manager to track down which cashier accepted the bill if it later turns out to be counterfeit.
I agree 1000%..that is no way a star note. It simply amazes me that people think they can alter notes and get away with it. Pretty silly if you ask me. RickieB
