Hi Everyone, I wanted to ask, for those who have bought the first day covers, how are you storing them? Have you left them in the white "carboard" mailer they were sent in? I was looking to put them in a binder I found through Lighthouse Publications but was just curious to see how others were storing them. Thanks!!!!
I don't have the cover series for the state and territorial quarters but I do have all the presidential dollars. I have not opened the white cardboard mailers. I put them into zip lock bags. I also include the US Mint invoice and the advertising circular in the bag. It might proof useful in the future with the inevitable great fakes heading from China. Of course, they will probably be able to fake the invoice too and circular too but it will take more work.
Storage I came across your post and was wondering how you have fared with the storage of first day covers. Which Lighthouse album are you using? Does it get bulky when all 50 covers (or even 56 with the territories)? I'll like to have a good storage method and hope others will throw in their 2 cents thoughts... Thanks and regards,
This is the storage medium I'm thinking of. Have to wait to get paid before I can order :smile http://www.lighthouse.us/epages/lig...03ah/SuperProduct/G000116?FromCatalog=C010553
My experience Hi, I wouldn't go for this album... it is ok if the covers were thin, but my covers, in a similar album, makes the album bulge. This is because the covers are thick. Yes, I do have the covers "staggered" - let me put this way in a perspective... first album page has two covers one per pocket with the back side shown - on page "1" of the two-sided page - so the front side of the cover is shown on page "2" of the two-sided page - and then the next two-sided page has the third and fourth cover's front side on page "3" and the back side shown on page "4", and the cycle repeats on page "5" just like page "1". This way, it minimizes the bulge with the cardboard and quarters in the covers. I guess I will have to go the box storage route. I hope my explanation makes sense to you.
