I got a $50 with the SN 20777077. It's one of the new ones with the red/purple background. Cool enough to keep?

i would let it go .. unless of course the $50 note is of little value to you, then sure.. why not lol

but, otherwise, the serial is kind of cool, but of no special sequence.

Close but no cigar. Trade it for 50 $1's. maybe you'll get a better number.

If you got this from a bank and it's brand spanking new, you could go back and ask for the
strap that starts with 20777701. This would cost $5000 to buy, but you could immediately
re-deposit the 98 notes you don't want at another branch.

That strap would have been in the same Bundle as this note and banks only get new notes
    in full bundles.

The two notes to look for are 20777701 and 20777777.

    Happy hunting.

Not $50's...a bundle of $50's would be $50,000 worth, which is more than most banks would keep on hand at one time.

The Fed requires "large" banks to order $1 through $20 notes by the bundle, and $50 and $100 notes by the strap. "Small" banks only have to order $1's by the bundle, and everything else by the strap. ("Large" and "small" in this context have precise definitions which I don't recall....)

But that only applies to banks that order their cash straight from the Fed. Some banks don't keep accounts at the Fed; they get their cash through other banks in their area, or through an armored car service that maintains its own cash vault. In those cases, the policy on orders can be pretty much anything (including some annoying ones where a bank isn't allowed to order $2's, half-dollars, or dollar coins...sigh...).

I didn't realize that about the larger denominations. But I was still only saying to ask if they had the strap with the radar and 6 sevens. That would only cost $5000 if ithey had it.
