The obverse is something something, what else could be on a babylonian coin other than a unicorn!
on the reverse is written at the top الجمهورية العراقية = The Iraqi Republic. at the bottom, احياء بابل واجب وطنى و قوملى و انسانى Ehyaa' babel wageb watany wa qawmy wa insany Revival of Bab(y)lon is a patriotic, national and humane duty !!
Them should learn this motto instead of bombing Iraqi's monuments turning it all into dust and ash. 20170617_133612.jpg 20170617_133612.jpg

Nice design - that coin is from a series illustrating the restoration of Babylon. Well, that was a Saddam-style restoration, as he somehow equated himself with Nebuchadnezzar. Ironically (or not), attempts at protecting the site in 2003 resulted in partial destruction too. And no, unicorns are for little girls. ;) This is a bull!

it looked liked a unicorn with the eventually one horn in a 1D picture:cow:
ehyaa in arabic from hayah life. viva. so my guessing "revival" is a more accurate translation. restoration in arabic means este'adat and when it comes to fixing monuments it means tarmeem (as in repair). as for the animal, it appeared to be a bull :arghh::bigtears:
