I really don't consider these errors. I categorize them under Variety's. But, since there was an error in the die making I guess they are considered as such. http://varietyvista.com/11 Franklin Halves/DDR Detail Pages/1950DDDR001.htm I am still considering which DDR it is, I know my Photos aren't as good as they could be. But I think there is enough there to get the jest. I found a cool die break, or gouge corner of upright and cross bar of the A in "HALF" I just wish it was better than an AU coin.
Kinda hard to tell from pics. Is there a notch or separation in the N of UNUM? Maybe we should ask the 82 expert!
You are right. I looked but for some reason looked over the placement. I will also play with the photos to see if I can get better shots. Wexlers was down last night. So I didn't have his references either. (His aren't much further help). I'll get back to ya'll.
All of EPU is doubled, also the eagle. I will play with the camera, might have to go back to a different lens, it did much better for the close up photos.
I got a little time to get some better photos. What a pain, I think I did OK. I still think I could do better with a little more diffusion. This is the small Die Chip in the bottom of the cross bar in the A It slowly tapers into the field. The Eagle was the toughest too capture some of the minute splits in the wing feathers. The right wing at the top, is Die deterioration. Here's another MM position, notice that it is not doubled. Here is the last photo of the Eagle. If you look closely notice the separation lines in between the eagles tail feathers, leg feathers, and inner feather tips. Also the bell lines are doubled. Thought I would throw in a full size. The EPU And I thought this one was a cool shot of HALF DOLLAR
