Welcome to the fourm. Unless your half is uncirculated then it has no extra value, if in uncirculated condition then it only worth about 1 or 2 dollars.
1963 50¢ has .3 OZ. of silver and thus has a bullion value regardless of condition of usually 3 or 4 times face value.Values over bullion would only be if the coin was MS-60 or better. Bill
I didn't consider the melt value of silver in it. At current silver prices your coin has $2.18 worth of melt value.
