Hi , I have come across this silver 5 Francs Belgian Congo 1887 , condition is EF need some idea of the Value !!!
Howdy Maurice - Welcome to the Forum !! Boy Howdy !! You know how to start things off with a bang ! According to the Krause catalog that coin, if genuine, could be worth up to $4,000.00. I would suggest that you handle it very carefully and only by the edges. Be careful that you do not get fingerprints on the coin. DO NOT try to clean the coin, wipe it off with a cloth or anything like that. Avoid even touching it unless absolutely necessary. Then you need to find an expert and have the coin authenticated. The easiest way to do that might be to find a coin dealer that is registered with NGC and have him submit the coin for authentication and grading for you.
Thanks a lot for the info , i will take your advice . I think the condition is what they call About unc. I will probably look for a buyer once I have had it authenticated, I will be in touch Thanks again ,, Maurice
