5 Cents Canadian

    I have a coin that says "5 Cents Canadian 1907" With a Kings head on the back. Any Ideal if is anything interesting. Thanks

    I believe what you have is 1907 5 cent coin. It is composed of .925 silver and .075 copper. Weight is 1.16 grams, 15.50 mm in dia. There were 5,200,000 minted in 07 the highest mintage of the series.

    The coin is worth from $3.00 in VG-8 to $90.00 in MS-60. The king is Edward VII.

    1907 was the last year the 5c coin minted in coinage die axis, meaning it's the same style as modern US coins. Flip the coin vertically and the other side would be upright. Current Canadian coins are in medal die axis. You have to flip it horizontally so that the other side remains upright.
