The reverse looks like a giant lamination. The obverse a normal (read: medium) however the verdigris on the obverse will not help it's value.
Thanks Thanks for the messages are really greatfull. So seems be a Lamination ... ( What Grade can Get ? , and can be inside the 66/66 Error ?. ). I still doesnt find a aproximattly value, any idea or help ?. Please try to help me, with the Grade and the 66/66 error. will be good share eye comments. Thanks speedy for comment !
There is really no added value to the coin because of the lamination. As for grade I would put it at VG. It is kindof a hard coin to grade because all of the light that is blasted on the coin from the photo...it is kindof washed out. Speedy
I'm not a usual poster on the error forum, but I agree with condor. If it were a lamination, the letters would not be visible - correct?
Incorrect. When a coin is struck the design is not just on the surface - it goes all the way through the coin. So even with a lamination the design is still visible. And Conder, I think you should look again. I agree with the corrosion, but I think the corrosion occurred after the lamination. Examine the rest of the coin, there is a lamination almost all the way around the right side - with no corrosion in those areas.
I agree with Doug that it is a Lamination Error in which the piece peeled away and the coin suffered significant environmental damage after the separation! Also, that the coin has a lot of other Lamination issues on the Reverse. The coin has some Lamination issues on the Obverse as well...the most significant being at 11:00 and 7:30! There are several nice Die Cracks as well and the "S" in TRUST was Struck Thru grease. Overall, I think that the coin would still grade at VF-30. Frank
Thanks Thanks for all the answers, now i have an Idea of what i found. So must be a VF 30, with Lamination and some Die at the ¨S¨ word. The last question will be ?, is a nice coin to send to PCGS ?, have some value or some collector value to Keep it slabed ?. You will send it to PCGS ?. I think deserve a PCGS SLABED CASE , what you say ?. IS NOT A 66/66 right ? seems to be ,....
I can't tell from those photos if what is going on on the right hand side is the result of laminations or just die cracks. And I don't see anything I could definitely call lamination in the area of STATES which was the area he was concerned about. After taking another look at the image and blowing it up 200% , I'm definitely leaning toward those being die cracks on the right hand side, not laminations.
