    Hello

I was looking thru some old boxes and found some paper currency. I have attached pictures of 5 and 20 dollar US bills. I also have a few other 1 dollar bills that I will post later.
    Do these have any value?

    Thanks

The national currency note is the most expensive it's in great shape for what it is, probably worth $50 due to the great condition of it. I love silver certificates even though they are not worth much, on Ebay you can get $3 for each one, the series 1935 (regardless of letter) are the most collectible. The 1935A Silver certificate may be the most expensive, worth $5 I wonder what's the deal with the gold seal silver certificate, the serial number is blue so I think it is from after it was made. The red seal $5 is in great condition, worth maybe $8 due to high grade (maybe in about new condition) The Canada bill is surprising collectible, worth around $7 in it's condition. I hope I helped.

Yellow seals were used for military purposes in North Africa and Italy during WWII.

Basically the condition of several of the notes brings their value down considerably. That some are very common also lowers them further.

The $1 silver certificate with blue seal, Series of 1935 E (Fr-1614) with a massive printage of 5,134,056,000 makes them very common and of little value. Signatures of Priest and Humphrey. This is example for SN: R04759216H.

The $5 Legal Tender note with red seal, Series of 1963 (Fr-1536) with a printage of 63,360,000 are also pretty common. I doubt it's worth double face value.

The $20 Series of 1929 New York National Bank Note is a fun piece and might be worth some more. I'm not a collector of those so someone else can suggest a value and perhaps provide the catalog reference number and which type it is.

The yellow seal was a note printed for use in the North Africa campaign during WW2. $1 silver certificate Series of 1935-A (Fr-2306). These do command a fair amount over face value. This series had 29,916,000 reported printed. Many of them show up in pretty rough condition like this one but hold value pretty well for the wear. Maybe you can search some completed auctions on eBay for such notes in a Fine grade and generalize a value for it. Recent book price (not reflective of actual market value) shows VF $75 and Gem $200.

The Canada note is something I can't speak to so perhaps someone will be along to share info. I know there are a few Canadian note collectors active here.

Oh! I thought the numbers and seal would both be yellow but it appears I'm wrong. Thanks for correcting me, being WWII it makes it even cooler.

The $20 FRBN is from New York - a very common district. The condition is pretty rough. Probably a high Fine 15 to Very Fine 20. Worth about $25 to $30.

The $5 Legal Tender is worth about $7.

The $1 North Africa Silver Cert is worth about $10 to $15 in the shape it's in.

The other $1 Silver Certs are worth about $2 each.
