42 Liberty half

    I bought this one couple months back what grade do you think it will get if I send it to NGC or PCGS?

    cant really tell from them pictures but none the less theres so many minted unless its uncirculated its probably not worth having slabbed.

    I agree. I'm new at this, so from what I can see I'm going to say VF20 to VF35 at best.

    One more voice in the chorus. Even if this coin were AU, it wouldn't be worth sending in for grading
    AU price: maybe $15-20
    Grading price: $35

    Makes a lot of sense.

    In addition, the scan has the washed-out look of a cleaned coin, but scans tend to do that.

    You can get coins graded for a lot less than $35, under various circumstances. Still, that half dollar is probably worth less than $10 and should not be submitted for grading.

    That's what I would say. I like these posts as it's good practice with grading. I would agree in the VF range.

    That's a good price. Melt value is at $6.2754 for this coin.
