Variety MM on the 1941S Jefferson.. I found 4 of these today.. I know I can see the difference this time in the size of the MM but I know there is a variety with an upside down MM.. ???? I may hate saying this.. But the LARGE MM is the more valuable one.. ?
Do you have "The Cherrypickers' Guide to Rare Die Varieties" by Bill Fivaz and J. T. Stanton Vol 1 2000. Look on page 307 for good pictures on this variety. The value then for the large mintmark 1941S variety was: XF $10, MS63 $65, MS 65 $125 (tHIS IS THE HARDEST ONE TO FIND) On page 308, the 1941s has a picture of the inverted mintmark. A small "s" was punched into the die upside down and never corrected. Value in 2000: XF $25, MS63 $175 I hope this helps.-O)
