So, I bought this one raw, sometimes I hate the lighting in the coin shops. if I was to light this photo directly down it would have a proof like appearance. It has a lot of reflectivity. The color is what made me buy it. I also had an open spot in my album. What are your thoughts on my purchase? I will not state any of my skepticism, I am hoping that I can chalk this one up to new dies and a proof like appearance. Thanks in advance for your input.
Looks like it's been dipped/cleaned, and is tarnished. Honestly, this is the kind of coin you want to avoid. Sorry.
I did only buy it at a AU 50 price. I took a chance on it being a DDO, thought I saw some fat letters. It has even more toning in hand.
I think it's cleaned, like others have said. I also think it's the Large S variety, so double shame for whoever polished it.
