greetings all! thought i would post a couple of morgan pics since i just made it 40 coins into the set. not a registry set by any means, but it is certainly fun collecting and learning more about them. thanks for looking.....steve
it is extremely nice in hand. the mirror is deep (4"+) and has an extremely pretty cameo appearance, but the reverse does not. i have no idea as they used to designate pl and dmpl obverse on the old anacs holders. i bought it for that reason, as they polished the obverse die, but it is mated w/ a reverse die which wasn't in need of polishing,..or, maybe the obverse die had broken and they replaced it w/ a freshly polished die. i have no way of knowing, but it is pretty and interesting.
I like the 1894-o since I've always been attracted to circulated morgans with some scarcity than to MS morgans that are more common. Last year I found a 94-o morgan sitting on a shelf in an antique store for $15.
