    Check this one out.
Looks like a substantial reverse crack or is it PMD?

That would appear to be a substantial crack in my eyes.

Very nice die crack. From one side to the other? Youll need to take better pics at different angles. Its tedious work but once you get a pic that pops its worth it.

Die crack, I agree. In the O in OF it goes over and inside the O and I can see it is raised rim to rim.

Looks like a nice crack! One of the few kinds that are worth hanging on to.

I would guess they would have retired that one before much longer from the look of the reverse overall..

All die cracks are worth hanging on to. Although they seem to be a dime a dozen on a lot of morgans.

Die cracks are common on the 1940-S. Look at the crack on Jefferson's shoulder on the obverse of your coin. It is present on my coin as well but my reverse is not as advanced.

I agree with the die crack alright, but the reverse of the coin also has PMD.

All these 40S images show a die crack on the front as well at the shoulder near the base of the bust or am I seeing things?

You are not seeing things. There are some that do not show the die crack, but many do.
    Here is mine:

I'm not sure where on my first image there is PMD on the reverse.. Perhaps I am missing it.

When I said PMD I did not mean damage that would stop the coin from being graded, but rather marks imparted to the coin post strike. They are the parallel lines that run at an angle across the portico of Monticello, and through the field under TIC in MONTICELLO. It looks like the coin was scraped by something.

Aah okay, I was wondering what you were referring to when you stated that and I see what you are talking about. Guess I will see just what that is when that one and the other one arrive in hand. Thanks for the clarification...
