Have a medal for the infantry given by the French. Like to know the value since most of the infantry wass killed. It has a date of 1918 and the battles on it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a reference which might be of help - Military Medals and Decorations, A Price Guide for Collectors by Yves Arden (1976). I did not see anything that jumped out as matching your description though. Could you possibly post photos or at least as accurate and as complete a description as you can?

It has the wars on the front with the date 1918 and on the back has a cotton field with pickers picking the cotton. I would assume that is because most from South Carolina in infantry.

What are the battles on the medal? I am assuming that since it is dated 1918 it is for service during WWI
