Hi guys, I got these from someone who didn't know much about them, but said that they may have been from the Franklin Mint (?). They're three miniature gold coins, designed after three older US coins - ones a $20 replica that weighs .5 g, one's a $5 replica dated 1807, and weighs .41g, and the smallest one is a $2-1/2 replica dated 1840 that weighs .30g. I say replica, but none of the three coins say 'copy' anywhere on them. The two smallest denominations have reeded edges, while the $20's is smooth. The edges of the coins, both the reeded and smooth, are solid gold in color - there is no presence of any other colors showing through. Any idea on what these are? Garbage?
probably gold plated. yes they are from the franklin mint. they are electroplated gold. if you got them for free then you did good. they are not worth much and they have little gold content.
