3 inch novelty coin for...

Ok here's a 3 inch novelty nickel I bought off Ebay to do a drawing from or do a painting from. fun size.

Seen those also they're cheap and interesting almost bought one

 

It's good thing they have to stamp "COPY" on those because they sure are deceptive.

 

They're cool, but I'm blind! I don't see where "COPY" is stamped on the FEC.

Haha, I have a number of these of various classic coins, but this is the first time that I have seen copy stamped on one. Very cool!

 

I bought several of them for my 3 year old son so he can look at coins while I do

He has: 09S VDB cent, 1972 Cent, 1913S Buffalo Nickel, the 1985 Jeff, a 1964 Kennedy Half, and a $20 St. Gaudens....If only they were real

 

May have been made before the HPA. I remember seeing these when I was a kid, they didn't have to have the COPY stamp then.

 

I just looked at all of the ones I have. The only one that has "COPY" stamped on it is the Jefferson. I bought them all last year at the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.

 

It's too bad that the Jeff isn't a 1950-D.

I also bought a mercury dime 3 inch coin and a 4 pack large 3 inch Lincoln cents. will show pics of those when they get here.

 

Wonder what the cashier would say if you try spending that nickel at the store

Depends on the cashier and the store - you just might find a place where you can convince someone it is a real nickel.

Here are a few of mine. Also, I just noticed on mine that they all have medallic alignments. Are the other ones here the same or do they have coin alignments?

 

Those 3" Lincoln cents make it look like Abe has an afro... LOL!
