Hello I think this is a stuck through three cent silver coin. I picked it up today at F.U.N. for $8.00
What would the value be for this.
It is highly obvious on the reverse.

Maybe it is a die clash?

    Thanks for your help. :smile

And am I correct in thinking it was holed and plugged?

I think it was holed and plugged. I'm pretty sure those are common like that because they are so thin. Check the online breen encyclopedia link on CT. I would have probably bought it.

    Garrett,

Your coin exhibits the effects of indirect design transfer! This is a result of the thousands of coins being struck with the Dies and as the Dies deteriorate, the design from the Obverse Die will gradually transfer through the planchets to the Reverse Die and vice-versa.

    Cool! Are these common?
Are they worth more or just kinda cool. :)
Oh yeah what would you grade the coin?

Grade range, POOR to UNC. GOOD: Devices outlined, tops of letters and outer points of stars blurred, everything legible. VERY GOOD: Rim almost complete, over 2/3 shield lines. FINE: Almost complete horizontal and vertical shield lines, over half shield borders. VERY FINE: Almost complete outer and inner borders to shield. EXTREMELY FINE: Isolated tiny rubbed spots on ribs of star, few high points of shield border, parts of large C, and star points. In higher levels, surface is critical for grading. from Breen's Encyclopedia
