    Here's my early March order,

I had my eye on this Aphrodite coin while planning a Greek Gods collection. It was a bit pricey for me but I've been budgeting it out for a few months. It is the most expensive one for me while choosing through other coins. So decided to just buy it now to knock it out of the way.

I returned to see if it was still there. It was and with a price reduction. I had to jump on it. I also nabbed a Histiaia Nymph as well. This will probably conclude my March budget even though it's still February.

The optimum word here is "new". I can't seem to shake my "old" addiction.

Wow- that Drachm is a rare coin! one like it(?)maybe a better legend was purchased by the MFA-Boston for more than 22 large. here is a link:http://educators.mfa.org/ancient/drachm-plarasa-and-aphrodisias-bust-aphrodite-1470

OHHH- OK- so how many coins is that? 232 coins? not sure how museum acquisition numbering works- as you can see.

Well, I thought the coin would of been bought by now. I had this one on the list for May. However, when I looked back on it, it showed 'price reduction'. Why was it reduced?

I am an addict, I just swapped out one drug for the next (ancient coins). More efficient this way.

Noticed you go for especially rare issues. Have you read any of the articles on the rarity issue in ancients? Like the one by Warren Esty? This applies especially to Romans but it may be of interest to you. You buy pleasant and artistic coins with a special theme so it may not apply too much but it is good to read if you are interested in rarity and are new to collecting..http://augustuscoins.com/ed/numis/rarity.html

Thank you Mike for that article. I'm collecting all the Greek Gods so to me what's important would be their portrait or Obverse, some are on the reverse as well. I do tend to go for the scarcer or rarer one when choosing from many coins.

One factor to me is price, so I stick with the cheaper one but will go a little further if considered scare or rare. Another factor is the type of metal. I will only purchase bronze and silver and not gold. I was never a fan of gold.

In the future I may upgrade them and seek out better replacement coins, if available.
