2nd Annual CT Fund: Official Thread!

Let it begin guys and gals! We are now starting the fundraiser. This year the community (majority of votes) decided to donate to the Shriners. This Fundraiser will be going from March 1 to the 27.

Due to legal reasons, we cannot hold our raffles as planned. However, we will still be giving a prize to the top five donators.

I will also be doing some eBay auctions to increase the pot. Of course, eBay and Paypal will take out the fees (I've yet to figure out a way around it) and there is shipping to go with that, but whatever is left goes to the pot.

I'll also be selling some of my coins at fixed prices here on the CT Open Forum. Included in that will be a few other coins donated by CT members.

Now, for the top five prizes going to the top five donators (The top donator chooses any prize he once, then thenext high donator chooses, and so on..)

Lets do it gang! Last year we raised $1,200! Our goal this year is to reach $2,000! I know we can do it.

So did I. That is two of us - I figure we only need 400 users to donate $5 to help them reach their goal. So come on everybody - any amount will help.

Just got off the phone with Stainless and we have decided to keep the Fund format the same as we did last year. Stainless will be responsible for collecting and distributing the prizes and I will be responsible for collecting the donations and sending them to the Shriners Organization. I will also be responsible for making sure everyone who wants a letter for tax purposes will get one. We did this last year and it worked out great! Here are the instructions!!!

For those of you who are wishing to make a donation, please follow these directions exactly as they will ensure a proper transfer of funds.

1. Go to Paypal and select the Send Money tab
2. Type in my email address (jaceravone@gmail.com)
3. Put in the amount of money you would like to donate.
Now this is the important part!!!!
4. Click on the Personal Tab and select Gift.
5. Lastly, send me a PM letting me know how much you have donated, if you would like to be included in the prize list and whether or not you would like a letter for tax purposes. If you would like a letter for your tax records, please make sure you include you full name and address and I will make sure I get them mailed out by the Shriners Organization.

I have contacted Paypal and informed them of our Fundraiser. By following the above instructions, you will ensure that I will not be charged a fee for collecting your money.

For those of you who do not have a Paypal account and would still like to donate, please PM me of your intentions and I will PM you back with my address so you can send me a personal check or MO.

Mike, thank you for putting the fundraiser thread link as your signature!!!! That is a great idea and will definitely get people's attention.

I don't know what you guys are planning for the advertisement part of this, but I think it would be a good way to keep the community informed if you could find a way to rotate the money thermometer and add that to the banner ads.
