bryantallard show me the money....so i can look through it

in my post a couple days ago i was told about the 9 curving towards the 7. i am feeling it a little on pic 5...but pic 3 is driving me nuts. is another characteristic that the top of the 7 is flush with the top of the 9? thanks in advance

Image 3 is the only Small Date; the rest are Large Dates.

I agree, the third one to me appears a small date, all the others not. The top of the 7 is in line with the 0, and the inner loop on the 9 is both curved towards the middle of the 7 and the font ends in a sharp point, not cut off squarely like the others.

You also need to look at the lettering, typically another indication is a poor strike on "LIBERTY", especially the trailing "Y". There's a URL that a lot of folks post up to a very good page for figuring this out, but I don't remember offhand. Do a search and you'll find it well enough, there's enough posts on this topic.

Well then, congrats on the find! I've not roll searched, but I've gotten lucky a few times with purchased proof/mint sets, and they are a nice find indeed. In good condition they fetch a decent price.
