Well, I got my quarter back today. Was the best I was hoping for. I hope in the future I will remember that little rule about NOT wiping the dirt off a coin when you dig it? Well, here is an example of my expensive swipe of the thumb. It's still a gorgeous coin though and I am thrilled. When I got it home I put it in hot soapy water and just fanned it with a q-tip all the dirt just melted off. Then I looked close and saw the abrasion on the obverse. Sorry the pics aren't the best. I am only home for a few hours and wanted to post about it before I leave again.
I dont remember your original post. You found that metal detecting? If so, great find. All i ever found metal detecting was a memorial cent and a old toothbrush.
Here is the original thread https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1927s-slq-to-grade-or-not-to-grade.247782/#post-1935454 It is up there in my better finds. Not my best but close. LOL, how does one find a toothbrush metal detecting?
