This set went on sale at noon from the US Mint. All minted in San Francisco. They are not Proof, but special uncirculated set. Looks like a sleeper set in a few years, since a fairly low mintage and an S mint mark, but not proof editions. $29.95 + shipping. Anyone else ordering a set?

"ordering"? Since you posted this at about 1:40, and they sold out a little after noon, then no. Lol. "ordered"? I wish! I was wanting to order 10 or so, but had to be somewhere at noon today.

Got mine ordered and sold. Obscene profit, no, but an easy profit.

I guess I am lucky, since I have 10 confirmed. Was able to get in right at 12:00.

Do mint products usually resell quickly for a little profit? Perhaps I should be joining in?

I'd not call these "Special Uncirculated" but call them "Enhanced Uncirculated" which is a combination of Satin and Proof like surfaces.
    Just My Opinion.

And yes, I was able to order 4 sets.

Some do. It depends on perceived demand, mintage limits, and ordering limits. I've had someone offer me profit on this and the 1 oz. proof Platinum this year.

No. SOME do, and you have to really pay attention to try and pick the winners. This looks like it is a short term winner at the least. Most are flops though.

    Not always.

The only time they do is if the numbers are right and in the case of this particular product, the numbers were right. Not the 225,000 mintage mind you BUT the "No Household Ordering Limit" number!

The sets will be unique with their Enhanced Uncirculated Finishes and the Big Box Buyers are well aware of this. Combine this with all the various sspecial ANA Slab Labels and First Strike™ Slab Labels and the profits will be very high. For a While.

It's a fast moving market and resellers must move quickly. Some will enjoy a massive profit while a lot will only enjoy a minimal profit but that "No Household Limit" was the real money maker IMO. The fact that they sold out in 5 minutes should tell you something.

However, the MOST important aspect of ordering from the US Mint is "Market Awareness". What this means, is the ability to predict a quick sell out and being logged in at exactly noon (ET) to get your order placed.
Then, buyers will flip them on eBay or resell them to a Big Box Store for a set price.

Should you get in on it?

Only if you can be available to order these limited edition, no household ordering limit items the very second that they go on sale.

I forgot to add that with this particular product, the US Mint made sure that a certain number of sets would be available for purchase at the ANA Show in Denver today. The sets were also available at the US Mint Retail Stores at the Denver and Philadelphia Mint. I believe that there is also an outlet in Washington DC.
The number of sets at those venues is unknown which most certainly contributed to the "5 Minute" Sellout!

Products that are part of popular product lines that have relatively small mintages will usually resale for a modest profit especially if there is a quick sell out form the Mint. Mint/poof sets and eagle coins have a pretty large following, so you can bet when a "small" mintage products comes along, they will be in demand.

Unless I had someone telling me to look for them, I wouldn't know to. I guess this isn't for me, unless anyone out there wants me to buy for them and gives me the heads up. Thank you @jwitten Nd @messydesk for the input.

    Like that danged Congratulations Set!

DANG! I missed that one and had to shell out better than $100 to insure that I at least got one for my Dansco!

Actually, your best source of information is this very forum. You CAN make contact with members that may or may not be available to buy online.

Because I just forgot about them. Logged in at around 1:00pm ET and they were gone! I really wanted one and kick myself for being so stupid.

I'll try to pay a little more attention. I'm currently getting a masters degree in Germany. I'm pretty sure I can carve out time for such purchases, I just need to find the right ones and right people. Thanks again.

I get most of my heads up from this forum and the various coin blogs. This set didn't get a lot of attention here early on. One thread about it was made weeks ago, then got quickly buried.

On the mint web site you can have a reminder sent to you to order their products. The reminder comes a couple of days before the day of availability. If you reply on the reminder, sign in to the site, I feel you get in ahead of a lot of other people. All my ordering information is already registered. Credit card, name, email, and address. I was in and out in 30 seconds.
I get a reminder on all products going to be sold each year. I only reply, if I want purchase the particular item.
