21D Morgan with cool die cracks, possibly a 6A, Closeup of third star added Here is a Morgan I spotted in a dealers case last month. I am not sure but I think it is a 6A. Anybody know what such a coin might be worth? Thanks, for looking
Nice to see you here MrSpud You'll see some familiar names here. Does the 3rd star on the left look like this? If it does, it is a 6A. Nice find!!
Thanks Becky, good to see you here too . The third star looks somewhat like the one you have pictured. I'll try to get a close up pic of it and post it.
Nice coin! It looks like a 6A to me. Here are some more photos from Rob Joyce's site. It used to be a JOH-2 before getting reclassified as a 6A. I have old prices for the JOH-2, but I don't think they apply anymore.
Nesvt - I'd be interested in knowing what the old value was for the JOH-2 used to be because I have no clue on what a VAM is worth. I understand the value would be different today (hopefully higher ) now that more people are collecting them and new books have been written about them.
Sorry for the late reply MrSpud. Too much turkey made me sleepy. Rob Joyce's Fun with 1921 book shows the following prices for the JOH-2. Note that these are old prices and the coin should be worth more since its promotion to a 'real' VAM. I thought eBay would be a better place for recent values, but couldn't find any 21-D 6A's. Thanks! I couldn't find anything anywhere on pricing of either the old JOH or of the VAM for this one. Now at least I have a clue
