Hey all I am just about done with my type set I told you all I would keep you posted so I am . All I have left to get is a peace dollar and I think I got that on hold. the grade of the coins are vf to ms mostly ms anyway feel free to post a reply thanks.

Everyone has there own outlook on thing's. But to me a type set is a personal choice "everyone has a chosen way of finishing there set" and how many coins will be in that set. That's the beauty of it all .See if you ask me type sets are awesome because everyone can find one to suite there taste. Thats why there the perfect thing for all who love coins. From the one's who are first starting out, to the ones who have been at it so lone they could not begin to tell you there story. So if you are not working on a "type set" or don't have one, do yourself a favor and get one!

The nice thing about a type set is that you can set your own definition of what "complete" is.

    One example:
Some collectors will have only one SLQ.
Most will want two (bare breast and covered breast).
But a few (like me) will discover there's a third variety.

I thought I was about done until I looked at the listing for a NGC registry set.
That set me back a bit when I found out about some varieties I didn't know about.

Yep , I still need the regular date type 2 , the three are Type-1 , type-2 regular date , type-2 recessed date .

I agree, it's the most individual way there is to collect. You mention the SLQs, the Seated Liberty coins leave even more to the imagination. I love type sets. :D

Yeah he does. He has to get a plexiglass for the back though..lol. Only thing that sucks about it is he doesn't have a spot for any Bicentennials or the SBA, or the State Quarter.
