I have a question. My set, like most,is backordered to 12/8/06 yet I'm seeing them for sale on HSN and Shop at Home. They actually have them ready to ship and both networks show the actual coins, reverse proof and all.How did they manage to get these before the rest of the public?
A good many people have already gotten theirs---even some guys here on CT---I would say that larger orders such as HSN and such have the first shipment. Speedy
oh their brother, sister, cousins, moms, dogs, and their contacts all ordered the sets within the first few minutes they went on sale. Some have said as much . I just love the way they put down items until they get them and it is then the greatest thing ever to hit the market. One lady at the mint told me that she had never seen as many 10's go out as she did with the AGE set. It is hard for me to believe that many of the 3 pcs silvers will not be shipped well before the 12/8 expected ship date
I went back and looked on the Mint website and saw this.I didn't notice it before. Apparently 12/08 is the "worst case" scenario. "Shipping of the American Eagle Anniversary Coin Sets is expected to begin mid-October, 2006, and take 10 - 12 weeks to complete.":mouth:
not to be rubbing it in or anything. i order 5 sets on the day they went on sale and received them 10/13
american eagle uncirculated the u.s. mint offered the american eagle uncirculated silver, gold and platinum coins. when will be the last day to buy these coins?. end of december?. by middle of next year?. anyone knows?.
Last day is the day they sell out (already happened for the 3 pc gold and 2 pc Unc set) or probably mid Dec. They will definitely stop these at the end of the year.
not sure this is the right place to post but thought i would anyhow. I watched the coin country show as they sold the ASE set for the first time. the 69 grade (NGC grades) was $329, 20 bucks less than coin vault. they had a reported 100 sets looks like they sold out in about 30 minutes then took a waiting list and sold out this to. According to them, the reverse proof in the 70 grade was almost impossible. Reported there have only been 2 coins in this grade and they had one. . going for 5k . it was funny how they were selling a 70 grade set for 7k when one could get the reverse for 5k and the ms 70 and regular proof for about 1k. Was comparing it to the '95 silver in the anniversary set. this is just for information and for what ever one wants to make out it. I like the guys hats he wears most nights. think soon you will be able to buy jewelry on their show.
bama guy, I have tried watching the coin country show and usually turn it off after about 5-10 minutes. I think the prices are absolutely out of this world and I do not learn anything. I enjoy watching the Treasure Hunter (Jimmy Gerstel?) as I usually learn something from that show. Sometimes if I am bored, I will turn on the Coin vault. However, they have put out some wrong info a couple of times so usually I find I can only stomach it for about 20 minutes. By the way, heard anything about the AGE sets that are backordered? My order still says expected to ship 11/6. I have not called the Mint to see if they are cancelling any orders yet. Dragon
dragon I do love the hats, yes i am still at 11/06 on the gold. think we may get them . would not bet my house on them. my understanding is the mint, to process an order suppose to to have availble inventory by thier own definition. of course i have been lied to and been wrong before. good luck lets see what happens on that date dragon. almost like solving a mystery lol will try to post after that date. good luck to you drangon I saw another had the 11/06 date
On what Dish channels do the coin shows like Coin Vault and Coin Country now appear? The Shop at Home Network (Channel 224 in the CO area) used to run Coin Vault, but they apparently went off the air. Coin Country was on CO Dish channels 217 and 221 at various times, but I haven't been able to find that show anywhere lately either. Anyone have any helpful info? I sometimes enjoy the humorous entertainment offered by those shows and their hosts, though their prices are OUTRAGEOUS, and their conception of TRUTH in ADVERTISING is lacking to say the least!
on Dish it is on channel 225, beauty and fashion channel at 8 pm central time. It is under coin and currecy auction. it also comes on tuesday night as coin country at the same time and channel also think it is on thursday night at the same time. shows like that are why god invented tvo's , record the thing and page throught it the next morning while you are getting ready for the next day . Half a pot of coffee and that show and I am usually ready to take on the world when I walk out of the house. One thing that surprised me was the eagle set they are selling at $329, the company that I bought my buffalo's from is asking $299. not really to bad but this is the only one I have seen like this. Of course i think most of their stuff is sold on consingment. Am looking forward to watching them tonight to see if they got any more ASE for their dear "customers"
