As a couple of you know I picked up some old $20's from 1950 at face value. The question is - Is there much added value in notes in this condition? Should I spend them, save them, or sell them if there is a small premium? If they are only worth $20 and always will be then there is no sense in keeping them when I could use the $100 for a better purpose. If you could afford to put them away - would you? Thanks Darryl http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee123/USS656/20sfront.jpg http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee123/USS656/20sRev.jpg
In my personal opinion, they are all keepers. Don't know if you could sell them for more than face value, but a dealer would definitely list them for more than face value.
Leaning that way just not sure if it's worth it? Wonder what a dealer would list them at.?. Thanks Darryl
Darryl, I have kept worse looking notes believe me. Plus you have a decent mixture of blocks/districts. If you don't want them I'd sure someone on CT might pay an extra buck or two. At least try and keep them in the hands of collectors.
Thanks for your thoughts guys - I'll keep them - if I ever decide to get rid of them I'll be sure to offer them up here first. I would never really spend a note this old without offering it up first. Best Regards Darryl
thats a pretty neat bank haul! dealers generally give $22 a piece for them. my dealer won't even buy them though.
i would keep them. If you really need the $100, maybe post them for face plus shipping inthe open forum. it would be a shame to spend them just to see them get shredded by the reserve banks!
