Today is the day I usually print up (and post next to my computer); my collecting objectives for the New Year. Naturally, my computer ran out of ink. Come to think of it that might also be a tradition. This year I have to be little more vague about part of my plan. I am still deep in the research and planning stage for what will become my new fascination; Barbers. 1. I am still in search of 2 specific types of Fortin top 100 coin types. I have 10 but made a list of 12 ( 4 years ago) so I have some unfinished Seated dime plans. 2. I also have a small group of Seated coins that are on my radar. 5 Seated Dimes. 3 Seated Quarters. 5 Seated Halves. 3. I have put proof Indian cents in my lists for 4 years now but must admit the competiton is fierce. 4. I do have a basic plan for Barbers but for the most part dates and mints are wide open. My primary focus will be on my Barber Dime date set, but it is in my collecting DNA to look for varieties, popular or otherwise; see my recap of 2025 if you want to know more about that. 5. I am also going to try and get starter sets of Barber Quarters and Halves going. If I somehow manage even 2 or 3 of either denomination I will be thrilled. 6. My final comment is about holders rather than coins. I have made it a primary goal to see what coins are still available in the old White ANAC Small holders; but it will always be the coin first.
