I received my silver proof set a few days ago (I've been collecting them since they were introduced in 1992). I must say the set looks flawless. Did I overpay? Of course. Are folks going to tell me all the reasons not to buy from the U.S. Mint? Yes, although it's probably not necessary because I already know them all. Still, I enjoy this series so I keep it going.
I have a collection of dung beetles.* That certainly doesn't mean you need to collect dung beetles. Same goes for US Mint products. You collect what you like. Not what someone else likes. * dung beetle collection was farcical. Used only to make my point.
I'm glad someone collects them. Otherwise I would never get to see them! Nice set. I really like the quarters.
I may not be a modern collector... But how can you not love a dripping wet proof coin? It's a lovely set.
Hey. If I had the cash I would buy one also. You got to admit that they look wonderful. I think the bottom 2 quarters are the best
I got mine as well. Ridiculous price increase over the last 3-4 years. But...I have everything going back to 1950, so I will continue to suffer the prices increases each year so that one of my heirs can give it away at a yard sale.
I received my set today. It is quite nice. I like to keep them going since I have the run back to 1936. I gave up on the clad sets starting with the America the Beautiful coins. I only buy the silver sets now.
I, too, collect the Silver Proof Sets. I didn't start until the 1990s. I also collect the Limited Edition Silver Proof Set. The one I like the best is the 2021 set with 2 American Eagle Silver Proof Coins... Type I and II.
Looks good. I know it's been a couple years but I still love the Frasier obverse. I loved it on the 1999 $5 gold and I'm so glad they are using it on the quarter today.
