I ran across about a dozen of these 2023-P Kennedy Halves where there is a very discernable crack in the parting of his hair just below the "E" in Liberty (sorry, new to this and not sure what this would be called other than a crack). It shouldn't be there and it's not found on most coins but I have found it on several - and only on the P's, haven't found this on any D's. I'm including one photo of two coins side by side so you can see that the crack is in the exact same spot on every coin. The last pic shows a "normal" half without the crack. What did I find here and is this anything special (i.e. worth keeping)?
It's a die issue and it's always called a Die Crack It occurs when the die gets worn. A crack forms on it so when it strikes the blank planchet the metal flows into the crack and appears raised on the struck coin. It doesn't crack the planchet.
I don't think die cracks are normally anything special. I'd keep them and stick them in a tube and put them with the rest of my error collection. I wouldn't bother putting them in flips or anything, but that's just me.
