This coin weighs correctly at 5.6 grams. From photo's hoping you can see that the reeded edge has mostly been removed. Also that the edge on the reverse is higher than the surface of the coin. In other words the reverse looks recessed from the edge. Sooooo is this an error ? Once again relying on the experts on this site that have helped this old man in the past.
Generally, if it can be done by a person, its not an error. To me, it looks like someone decided to hit the edge of the coin repeatedly to remove the reeding, or something of that sort.
Looks like the edge was flattened or close to it as if someone was trying to create an error but gave up as it became too much work.
Why haven't they developed a machine to do this, instead of someone sitting there banging on it with a spoon? Or the dryer maybe.
