2021 W Proof Silver Eagles sold out at the open?? Come on guys, with a mintage of 327,000 how can the US Mint allow these flipper/hacks to gobble up the entire supply before they go on sale?

Not much you can do when these people have scripts to quickly buy.
I'm done with the games, I won't ever buy a proof ASE. I'm fine with my single 2019 W ASE, or the plain old mintmarkless version.

Imagine the price inflation for the new 2021 silver eagle's when they will be available for pre order on ebay first.

Yes, the US Mint has succumbed to the almighty dollar but that happened years ago. :D

And this is why I don't buy ASE's from the mint.

I think most were sold on the Enrollment option. I have a standing order for two and got notice early this morning that they were processed. I saw where they did stop everyone from changing their enrollment amounts a while back because they were going to sell out quick with just those. I would encourage you to sign up for the others coming out later if you want them (S Mint Mark or W Uncirculated). The Special versions are not available on this, and that is where I've also become frustrated with the Mint also.

So for clarification: are the normal ASE Uncirculated Coins with the old reverse not being released this year?

That is a good question. The Product Schedule just says an Uncirculated Coin, NOT which version it is. There is another W Proof coming out, which I assume is the new version, and then a two set Reverse Proof from S and W. Assume at least one is the new version, but it could be both.

    Mintage Limit: None
    Product Limit: 327,440

This silver eagle will be sold in other formats, and they can just mint more also if they like.

And the 327,440 is on par with the mintage of any other year, the dealers are hoping to capitalize on "last silver eagle of the design" marketing.... And speculators are hoping for some sort of error involved.

I'd expect these to go on the secondary market quickly, have their moment in the sun, and then a massive dump from people that want to recover their $7227.00 for the 99 unit household maxes.

@Histman The S mint and the uncirculated (burnished) one was noted on them last year that it was the last one of the old reverse. on this W it wasn't .

there won't be one with the old reverse this year unless by accident or something.

Could be a W old reverse and a S new Reverse. or could be both S and W New reverse, will be one of those options, in the reverse proof finish and my guess is both will have the new reverses. but who really knows for sure.....

That's true, but companies like CoinVault and the other bigger companies get first dibs as they buy huge amounts. At one time the US Mint was coin collector friendly, not so much anymore.

  15. I am glad that some are excited about this release. I gave up on ordering from the U.S. Mint years ago. TC

True. But they make no more money from the coins being flipped.

They do though, brings more future sales. Sales plummet when everything is a dud and just goes down quickly in the aftermarket

It's the 'nutty' stuff (such as what is currently going on) that makes the 'collector' me glad I have a mint subscription for these coins. I don't have to worry about sleeping late on game day, or worse yet, having a frustrating time trying to order them from the mint sites overwhelmed servers.....

I jumped on a Mint subscription for this year’s ASE proofs. Suppose I got today’s...order is being processed and credit card was charged. One question @green18 ... will the subscription also cover the two coin reverse proof set this summer? Thanks!

What I don't understand is why they set the limit at 99 coins. The mint survives on collectors but seems to be more concerned about the flippers.
