On a side note they have reduced it from 25 of each coin per household to 10. gonna be some unhappy presellers that can't meet their sales :D

Just like a new car - loses 60% of its value as soon as it leaves the dealer.

This pre-sale stuff is only possible because the US Mint allows dealers to receive coins several days ahead of we the collectors. It is not right, it never has been. If you want one you pay a premium to the US Mint or you get one from a dealer and pay the mint premium and the dealer premium.

Absolutely nothing to do with an eBay presale months in advance.

They all say presale I’m sure the people buying are aware. They also don’t have to pay and can cancel if they order successfully themselves. It’s not a bad way to increase the chance of getting one if you really want one.

Some people believe it is a federal offense to expect to buy one from the Mint at the Mint price.

Really? Where did you get that idea?
I think it is a federal offense to release them to dealers ahead of the "official release date". Thereby reducing the opportunity for the general public to pick one up at the "Mint Price".
