2021 ebay find..1971 ike, struck through 2 places on obv, 1976 struck through grease obv/rev got the ikes for 3.00 (was 2,00 ea, but dealer discount, searched througgh 200 to find these, lol the cent was an auction...4.75 landed...
I believe those are die chips on the ike...not struck through...you need to buy the book before the coin. That said not as a put down but advise,as the two items you have posted aren't worth the money paid imho. Errors unless they are big errors arent worth paying for.....they don't hold much value if any. And again not trying to bust your bubble...just trying to educate.
the two spots on the struck through are like holes, def. struck through, and as far as value, i like em, so i bought em..def not die chips, as they are sunken in..possible lamination, but def. not a chip as a chip would be raised..
Ah no...a chip can be raised but your specimen looks like post mint damage ....depending on the die face...lamination is a fault in the platchet from the medal mixture not right...which can be cause by a gas bubble...too . You will find a lot of lamination issues in coins of the 1930's and 40's. You will also find a lot of woodies in cents and buffalo nickels too.
A definite die crack on the cent but on the Ike’s I’m only seeing what looks like a small indentation that could be a struck through grease. At least you didn’t pay a lot for them but I fear you did over pay. They are both small and minor issues.
The hits on the Ike I could go down to the work bench and turn out over 100 an hour...they don't look legitimate. And again constructive criticism not putting you down. Just hate to see you buy items that have little to no value.
As already stated above, I must agree. I think you jumped the gun on those and need to do more research before buying any more errors. I see $2.01, nothing more, but like you said, "I like em, so I bought em." and that's what collecting is all about.
i have seen coins with the same struck through (albeit in slab() bringing 50-150 for state quarterws,,so, i beg to differ, there is significant grease strike through on obv and reverse, just check out heritage past listings, i believe they have same year ike bringing 65.00 plus another 29.00 for buyer fee, and i did not anywhere state values, just that i am showing off what i found and bought, if you do not like them that is fine, they are still errors in my book..
also, anyone who has these "worthless: errors, please dm me, i will gladly take them off your hands...
You are certainly free to disagree with my analysis. But people who paid that much for those know little of what they are doing.
1976 in gau ( ikes) is 1.38...per numismedia, without a struck through grease error, so how did i overpay by paying 1.50??
i am very happy with all 3 purchase, and will gladly purchase any grease filled coins at those prices...some people pay ridiculous prices for holed coins, which i myself think are worth just face value (unless silver) as well. .everyone has an opinion...i like errors, that is what i collect, even minor ones...
