I seen some listings on ebay, and I have found a couple pennies with these characteristics is this a DDO or die deterioration.. what do you guys think are those legitimate listings? I cant respond to this post until after work sorry for the delay
Common Die Deterioration Doubling.. Common issue on Copper plated zinc cents. Worthless doubling. EBay is full of incorrect listings. Stay away from them. Here is a horrible example Just crazy!
Okay thank you for your input you guys are great mentors I'm getting better at deciphering DDD, but I wasn't sure. I have a 1970 s penny, that features really strong mechanical doubling on the date and mint mark, i say its mechanical doubling cause it shelfs. When it displays the shelf like features is it mechanical doubling everytime?
One can never be too sure on these single-squeeze hubbings what the fanatics I mean the experts will say. We normal coin collectors can't tell you, definitively, there's your bottom line. Get one of the crackpots I mean the professionals on it if it's really that important to you, whether you've got something worthless. Sorry to say it, but that's just how I feel about these. And there's nothing anybody can do about it.
Nothing worse than a grumpy old horse, but I agree with you 100% on single squeeze coins. But I expect eventually they will get labels on their plastic. Jim
You humans got it easy. My cowboy had me up standing guard on the range all night last night. Do that and see how you are the next day.
