Struck thru what ? It looks like it was forced off the edge from the zinc shiny part. Looks like PMD. Wait for more opinions...
The lines on the zinc that is showing go in a different direction than the lines on the coin itself. I can take my knife and make a zinc coin look like this. It’s PMD.
I’m not gonna move it like that and then itll come off. Looking at it again you would be able to move it if you wanted to it hasn’t been struck
It would look way more aggressive if it was done pmd. Now those striations on the actually coin in the fields close to the rim are very common has nothing to do with the rim burr in question
Not struck thru it’s just a 2022 shield cent with a retained rim burr after the strike Pete apple has talked about this before I’ll find the forum and post it here
It’s not a strike thru bc it would make the rim burr flat diagnosed that wrong. It is a rim burr not struck thru but still attached. There’s still plenty of height and contour in the field
It is an interesting zincoln for sure. I would not fool with it. I would seal it, show it, and enjoy it. Anomaly yes but I like it. Thanks, and good luck.
Kinda forgot about the burr. Is it a burr or not. I’ve had a few of these I things. There long gone. Earlier CRH finds
