I got a roll of new 2020 dimes the other day and about 20 of them had this error as well as cuds and 2 with die cracks. My question is, is the error above the ear considered a die chip or something else? I don't have a microscope, so these are the best pictures I can get.
Looks like some die chips and/or cracks. Not cuds. Cuds start from the rim of the coin and go in towards the middle. Like this:
Looks like a die chip but hard to tell from your photos. Definitely not a cud as cuds are along the rim.
I thought it was a die chip but wasn't sure. I didn't realize cuds were always along the rim. Guess I need to study more. Thanks for the info.
