I found this a little while ago looking through some change, was wondering if it was maybe struck through something, or if someone just vandalized it for fun, it came out of a OBW roll i picked up, and was the only coin in the roll that seemed different. Thanks for any and all input!
It's very strange, honestly to me it looks like it got fed into the machine that puts the reeded edge onto the coins, but i don't know how that would be possible? I was thinking about maybe sending it off to grade some day but i don't know if it would be worth the money honestly especially if its just PMD instead of something that actually happened in the minting process.
Like Sal said, it was probably caused by a Dremel tool that was held lightly on the surface so that it skipped around. By the way, the reeded edge is the third side (retaining collar) of the coining chamber.
