Just came in today. Carefully opened the package. Reverse proof cent has at least one hair line on the reverse shield and several on the Lincoln bust. Then the rim on the right reverse is absolutely sad... Then the Lincoln in the set itself has a spot over the E in Liberty. The rest of the marks are on the plastic. Other coins look okay so far but fairly diaappointing...my expectations were somewhat low after getting burned on the first W cent and the mint still managed to fall short. I buy only one silver Proof set each year. I have given up on the clad sets because I lost money on them almost every year. At least these sets have silver in them.

I buy my set from my local brick and mortar guy. He lets me mix and match to get good coins. I pay him a small profit, but I save the postage on just one set and get better coins.

When I was a dealer I would 10 sets a year. I would always get some clunkers with spots, marks and finger prints. Buying one set from the local dealer works for me.

When I bought the first set of the year they counted the cent, the cent envelope and the set as 3 products and so I get free shipping the rest of the year including on this order...

Id like to have that w penny, I just ended up buying the 5 atb silver proof quarters. since it was 20 and free shipping, calculated silver content worth about 16 or so, at spot price that day. I still may buy it, undecided. hope to find the penny less expensive somewhere when the excitement wears down some.

Frankly the reverse Proof cent is the least interesting coin in the set for me. The dealer charges extra for it. He would sell the set without it for $20 bucks less. (He cut me a break because we scratch each other's backs. I give free advice to to dealers who work with me.) I bought it because I figured the set would be incomplete without it and harder to sell later.

He says he is buying far more 2019 sets than usual to get the cents. If that perception is widespread, the mintage on this set will be very high.

My W penny appears ok although I haven’t removed it from the baggie but had to return the lenses because of marks on the nickel and the Guam quarter. The quality from the mint is dismal these days - I’ve had to return several purchase for replacement over the last few years and it appears that the mint has blacklisted me. I can not initiate a return online now so now I have to call to request returns. Has anyone else experienced this???

I suspect this is right which, of course, is the sole reason the mint added the cent in the first place. Mint sales have been declining for years so expect more of these gimmicks going forward to juice sales.

I don't particularly care for reverse proof coins in general but the west point mm was the hook on these sets as well as the silver struck in .999 for the first time, not withstanding the ASEs.

You got lucky....All my coins including the WP cent were stolen from the box...All I have to revel in is the outer sleeves. Hope the thief enjoys them...The Mint is refunding my money in 4-6 weeks.

I much prefer the sandblasted frosting to the laser frosting.

I got mine, and while I'm not totally impressed with the condition, the coin is adequate for my purposes.......stop the bloody whining.

Yeah you're right. Let's settle for adequate...i mean it's tough minting coins and having to make them perfect just to have the mail room kid scuff em up when he throws one from bin A and one from bin B in a box and only is making minimum wage. Jeez what do you want for $55 bucks anyway?

Unless someone can get an ultra rare, perfect condition, cameo , coin from the mint they remain displeased. Get over it people. I know, I know, they could have put the 'bagged' coin in the envelope provided (and thereby have alleviated some of the 'chatter' on the coin') but apparently the job of doing so is 'hourly' and to do so would require 'overtime' so that step was skipped.
