2017 Had me mostly focusing on my Ike Collection. I started this year and am down to Three coins to complete the set. I am taking a break from that set and focusing on Morgans. I am not going for a complete set but there are a few coins I have been chomping at the bit for. Here are three I hope to acquire in 2018:

    MS65 1885CC Morgan
    MS66 1882S Morgan
    MS66 1880S Morgan

What are on your 2018 Wish List?

I actually wish to start off 2018 with less US Mint Errors and dwell in Foreign Mint Errors. I started with 2 this year. A Die Crack on a coin from India and a Off-Center from Argentina both NGC attributed.

I intend to start and complete my ASE collection and put them in the CAPS Binder. I will also continue to stack as much foreign silver as I can.

Early generation holders, I want together some variety and small type sets in the same style slabs.

I need to drastically thin out the herd.

Then finish my Early Silver Commem set (7 to go).

    After that...not a clue

I take an opportunistic approach to collecting, so I have no idea what will come up that I will want to buy. There will definitely be some ancient Chinese coins and probably some other ancients. I don't know what US coins I will be getting.

I am an opportunity buyer as well. I am not currently seeking anything in particular, but I will pounce on a good deal if I find one.

    Still off the cigarettes, @Bman33?

I'm just going to keep adding the 2018 coins to my sets.
The only must get coin this year is a nice AU 1955 DDO Lincoln cent.

I've got 4 coins to go to finish my set of NGC Washington quarters 1932-1964...and only five of those coins aren't MS.
After that will be working on my set of early commems, which I have been adding too few coins to for too long.

I was thinking gold eagles too but not sure whether owning the 1/10th and 1/4 size would a better buy based on future liquidity?

My tentative general 2018 wish list:

-some more Capped Bust Quarters, because you can never have too many
-some capped bust dimes, and maybe a Dansco album for them
-maybe a capped bust half dime if the right one appears
    -2018 silver reverse proof set

One of those is definitely not like the other!

the general rule of thumb is this: the smaller the coin, the higher the premium. Both are just as liquid, one costs more than the other per ounce.
