    Hello All,
I have two 2018 pennies with the same anomaly. They appear to have die cracks coming from the w in we and going down into Lincoln's head then splitting to the rear of the head.

Based on those pics I would say they appear to be die cracks, also it appears that coin has some major DDD ( die deterioration doubling) going on. IMO

Thanks Dave and Collecting Nut, I have noticed a lot of DDD on newer pennies. There is no detail in the beard or the bow tie on virtually all of the 2015 through present pennies that I have looked at. They seem weak and sloppy compared to older pennies.

That location is prone to die cracks. I've seen many years with Lincoln's head getting split.

That area of a die crack is
    fairly common from the 1950's
    thru current cents........

Nice example of a die crack on
    a new '18 cent......

I did not know that was a popular place for die cracks, Thanks. I found two, exactly alike in my change the same day. I have a crap load of 2017's with cracks on the upper left of the shield on the raised part.
