https://www.cointalk.com/threads/2018-pennies.319387/ Before I toss these back out to sea, is there any value in these? I looked around and they are trying to sell similar pennies for a huge range of prices. I am really curious now what you guys think....any value above a penny or not???
Thanks Paddyman. Instinct tells me some of the adds I see asking $30+ for very similar coins must not sell. I wonder if anyone really gets even $1 for these types of errors. One add said "super rare"...I kind of laughed because I have a handfull of the dang things. I see some adds that are absolutely crazy because they claim to be DD's and are just PMD or MD and have huge price tags. Some are listed at $300 or more and arent even a listed variety. Im so curious if people actually buy coins like that.
Some people have no soul. In America theres a million ways to make money legitimately without taking advantage of others. Its everywhere and the people that do it somehow sleep well at night convincing themselves they are somehow right or "entitled" to it. Theres no self respect left. I just seen a story on TV (wasnt fully paying attention) about some very wealthy dude who bought what he thought was a very valuable old nickle. When he died his family was all over fighting for this nickle and it ended up being it was a fake anyway! The dude was swindled. I know that if certain people that frequent this site....just knowing the experience and knowledge they have...have all probably been presented with "opportunity" to take advantage of someone during their tenure. Only they can honestly answer that question in their hearts if theyve been completely honest over time. I can see why people who chose this as a profession or serious hobby stick within their circles to be safe. Theres alot of souless people out there.
