Oh well. It looks like my circulated, pre-decimal collection is worth beer money. I bet the Dansco Albums are worth almost as much as the coins
Do you know of any Dansco dealer(s) with Irish "florin/halfcrown" albums available? I'm looking for some.
I got the albums 25 years ago. I don't have the 43's. The 37 shilling isn't on my want list so I'll have to check and see if I have it. If I do, it would be a low grade example
The problem with those Dansco abums is, once you put an EF or Unc coin into them, all the other coins look terrible and there is pressure to upgrade. Coins are like cars, insofar as the high mileage ones don't have a great re-sale value ... unless they are rare AND there is a demand for them.
Years ago, I found that I accumulated a moderate amount of Irish Pre-decimal, so I started looking in dealer pick boxes for dates I didn't have, so most are not in the nicest condition. But it was fun searching.
It's still fun though and Irish coins are much more difficult to get than their US counterparts, i.e. lower mintages + not circulating any more.
