So yesterday I was driving thru a parking lot and when i got out of the car, there were pennies EVERYWHERE! I picked up 68 of them plus a nickel and a dime! People were looking at me crazy but who cares, I look at every penny I find on the ground as a potential lottery ticket. But maybe upon looking at this one in particular, i can see why the previous owner cast them to the ground. I’m calling it the bubonic plague Cent because... well it certainly looks like death. A couple things I did notice tho: 1.) I can’t tell if there’s a mintmark or if that’s just more plague, but there’s a faint mark resembling at least part of a D 2.) in the middle of his chest is either a 0 stamped or the biggest lesion of them all
I tend to find them like this at the car wash. Somebody leaves them sitting in the drink holder in the car. Some acid soda pop leaked on them and they become a mess so they get tossed. I bring them home and rinse them off and go buy myself a soda with their throw away!
I'd say "you were unwise to pick it up in the first place", but you did leave the environment cleaner than you found it. Zincolns aren't just susceptible to plague; they ARE the plague.
