Which one do you like best ? http://news.coinupdate.com/cfa-make...8-atb-quarters-and-obama-presidential-medals/ http://mintnewsblog.com/2016/06/u-s...ouse-gold-coins-and-2018-atb-quarter-designs/ http://www.coinworld.com/news/us-co...quarter-reverse-design-proposals-us-mint.html
Apostle Island 5A Block 5 but not crazy about it. Cumberland I don't like any. Pictured Rocks 9 is the take the kayak out. Voyageurs 3. Why do so many proposals have kayaks?
all I can say is we do not need another bird on another quarter. soon the flippers will be selling the ultra rare National Park bird quarter series. I like them all except for that one.
Hm. I always have mixed feelings when I look at ATB design candidates, usually because they rarely look as good after being minted in metal. None of the Apostle Island designs really twang my pleasure centers. Maybe WI-01? I do like birds, so the bird heavy themes for Block Island don't really bother me, but none of them make me want to do naked cartwheels through the center of town, either. I do like the bird conservation theme on RI-11, but the bird probably isn't having the time of it's life. Then Cumberland Gap. GA-01 probably gives the best sense of what it feels like to actually visit the park more than the others. GA-10 reminds me of the ending of a sappy musical and GA-13 evoked the album cover for Rush's "Permanent Waves," though without the naughty peek-a-boo, of course. Pictured Rocks, again, I don't know. MI-08 and MI-12 show nice views. And then back to birds for Voyageurs and the best designs do picture birds, MN-03 and MN-06. MN-04 and MN-05 could be views of almost any large park. Some promising designs, for sure, but from my past experience these drawings rarely accurately portray how the final minted coins will look. Plus, Nancy Reagan was supposed to be the most recent living person to appear on a US coin. Sadly, that didn't happen. So it goes, I guess...
