I just received my usual order of 100 each of the new ATB quarters for Ellis Island from each mint. I opened the 2017P quarters first. I found 18 of them with what I believe looks like a die gouge that runs from the second floor windows to the mans chest. Any ideas. The 18 coins look alike. It has a slight raise. fullsizeoutput_238f.jpeg fullsizeoutput_2391.jpeg

Hey there. I am going to say something you will hear a lot here. But your pictures are too hard to see the affected area. Try to use direct light, make sure camera lense is clean on the outside, and after you take the picture, try to zoom in and make sure the affected area is easy to see.

I am assuming that it is a raised line on your coin and all 18 coins have it in the exact same location, since your calling it a die gouge (It looks recessed in the pics, but sometimes lighting can play tricks).

Interesting, but it probably doesn't carry any premium.

If it's recessed in the coin it is probably a scratch

It is just slightly raised and faint. It still can be seen by the naked eye. All 18 coins are the same. Also of note, of the 100 coins in the bag, there were 10 that had die chips near the man's hat and another 28 that had a Die chip on the neck of Washington. Really of no value, but still fun to find.
