I see in Frank Robinsons latest price list, that he says the 2017 Krause catalogs are a mess. Has anyone else found this to be true? And what have you found that's not right. Mine are the 2016 edition. Frank is a well regarded and trusted dealer so I'm guessing he's found out plenty considering his knowledge and the large variety he offers.
Hm. I do remember feeling confused by the 2016 Krause North America guide (the one with US, Mexican and Canadian coins). At one point it stated "see chapter 6 for Web information," but no chapter 6 existed. Plus, the date on the cover said "2016" but it only included, for the most part, coins up to 2014. Somewhere else it recommended calling or writing the Canadian Mint for more information with no mention of either an email address or a website. Other wording and references made me wonder if anyone had proof-read the book in years. Regardless, I still like it as a reference for Mexican coins.
The Krause catalogs have been full of errors since the 32nd edition after F&W Publications took them over. F&W just doesn't put any money or staff into the production of them. I believe they are down to six people now. It would be hard for a staff that size to put out one catalog the size these things are, but they are doing eleven or twelve of them. You do that your going to have a lot of errors.
Yes, especially for pricing, which I do not use them for, mostly just identification, compositions, sizes, etc.
